The Dam
This is the original dam, built in 1862 with a height of 24m / 78.7ft (Yorkshire Water). From the beginning of April another metre of dam will be visible each week.
Here is the water tower; in the corner of the pond you can also see the overflow which is to be rebuilt.
Here is the full length of the dam (and the Doe Park Water Activities Centre boat park).
Two views of the back of the dam (covered with perfectly mown grass).

Introduction
In April 2006 Yorkshire Water will reduce the water level in Doe Park Reservoir by one meter per week until the level has dropped by five metres. At that point, contractors can begin work to rebuild the dam and overflow. The work is expected to finish in December 2006. This means that there will be no sailing on Doe Park for most of the 2006 season. This blog is so that sailors and other interested people can follow the progress of the works.
